Electrostimulation
Electrostimulation sends electrical impulses through electrodes on the skin to the nerves that activate muscles. The impulses cause the muscles to contract and relax in turn.
The procedure is used alongside active exercise for muscles weakened by injury or inactivity, helping to maintain or restore strength and movement control. Electrode placement, stimulation intensity and the pauses between contractions are adjusted to the target muscle group.
